It all happened pretty slowly. No, per say, fireworks or a sudden attraction. They met years ago at Joelle’s youth group function- one of her girlfriends brought along a cousin (Jason). Being skeptical of guys, Joelle was convinced she was not going to be impressed with this guy. It wasn’t until a year or two later when they served at his cousin’s wedding that he really caught her eye, but she never told anyone.
What she didn’t know was that he could never quite forget about her from the very first time they met and had been praying about it since.
When she first found out how he felt about her she was shocked, but still pretty excited at the same time.
She took a bit to pray about it and felt that God had given her the go ahead!
So they waited until she had graduated, and then started dating.
It was quite the adventure and they grew in love with each other more and more every day!
He tried not to act too excited the night she suggested going to the beach.
He wore an undershirt that said “will you marry me?”!
It was a gorgeous evening, just what she always imagined the perfectly romantic proposal to be like.
And of course she said yes!
When they’re together they love going to the beach, going out to eat with friends, playing volleyball,
and enjoying time with their families.
They also try to make room for lots and lots of quality time since they are often separated by distance.
(She lives in Delaware, he lives in Ohio.)
Jason said,
“Joelle is the sweetest little female I ever met. That’s why I’m getting married to her. I learned a long time ago that life is way better with her then apart from her. I like her quiet personality and her smile that seems to light up my life even in the times that I am least happy.
I like trying to figure her out. Like predicting what she is thinking, and just playfully teasing her and seeing how she will react. She is very romantic and enjoys conversations involving our future together. She has random ideas sometimes that make me laugh and she is a thinker. Never will a situation arise that she hasn’t thought of every aspect of it. She is a sweetie and I am very thankful for her!!!”
And Joelle thinks,
“Jason is a sweetheart in every way! He is very caring and kind to the people around him. He is never one to say anything negative or to complain. He’s always very encouraging & knows exactly how to “turn any frown upside down!” He never gives up on anything that seems hard but takes everything as a challenge. He has a heart of pure gold, and can carry a conversation with just about anyone and make them feel important and valued!
Jason can be a big joker- always finding things a joke and trying to make life fun and exciting (sometimes just to watch me squirm with embarrassment!). He is not one to sit around, but is always on the move! He’s nothing short of romantic either, and always does sweet little things to make my day go so much better!
I am the luckiest girl alive to say the least!
I think they’re just really completely adorable! 😉
They’re getting married in just a few weeks, and we cannot wait to be a part of their big day!!
We love you guys, thanks for letting us in on this super exciting time in your lives!
xoxo
