Hi there! Welcome to the blog, a journal featuring our most recent weddings, engagements, and occasional travels. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm Kayla.

Isaiah and April: Engagement

Nov 19, 2012

April had this really good friend named Kyle.
ANDDD it just so happened that Kyle’s best friend was Isaiah.

It was nothing new for Kyle and Isaiah to hang out and play drums. So one night when Isaiah texted Kyle to ask if he could come over to practice, Kyle brought April along.
Isaiah immediately noticed the gorgeous girl that came with Kyle, and when April heard Isaiah play she was smitten.

A year went past.

April hurt herself in a gynamstics accident, and ended up on crutches for a few weeks.
Guess who showed up… Since she couldn’t walk, Isaiah came to her house to watch a movie.
Technically it was their first date.
BUT before Isaiah left he promised her that when she could walk again, he would take her to a real movie.
A couple months went by and they officially started dating.

Over the years, they found themselves falling in love more and more. It was easy. They completed each other,
and the more time they spent together, the better they became. As individuals and as a couple.

For their two year anniversary, Isaiah took April on a day trip to Maryland.
While they were waiting for their dinner reservation, they walked along the private beach next to the Chesapeake Bay.
They drew in the sand, played in the water, and then suddenly Isaiah bent down on one knee and asked,
“April, will you marry me?”
And she said, “YES!!”

Isaiah said,
“April has gone through multiple events in her life that would normally break a person
but for her it has just made her stronger.  She has made me a better person and a better Christian.

She warms up a room with her smile. She’s incredibly beautiful, and she’s the most determined person I know.
She is the definition of “the better half”. Anything that I’m not she is.

I cannot wait for the day she becomes my wife, and the day she’s becomes the mother of my children,
and every day after that because- every day with her in my life is a blessing.”

(May i just interrupt to say, that is about the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard.)

There she goes- flashing her room-warming smile.
April, you are absolutely gorgeous!

April says,
“Isaiah is my rock in every way possible.  He is the most respectful and trustworthy person I know.

The best part about Isaiah is that he taught me how to open up and love someone.  Before I met him I kept everything inside, and wouldn’t let anyone in on my thoughts or my feelings because I didn’t want to be vulnerable or weak. Isaiah taught me that it’s okay to let someone in.  The day that I let down that wall and let him was a huge milestone in my life and from that day on I knew he was the one I was going to spend the rest of my life with.

When God brings someone this perfect for you into your life you do not let them go.  God had saved me, and he brought Isaiah into my life to do the same. Isaiah truly saved me from myself.”

They’re adorable.

They love the outdoors, renovation projects, and videography.
They make a great team in whatever they do, and love working together.

I have to include just one more of the gorgeous bling…

I’ll end with two of my favorites, because it shows just how perfectly in love they are.

We love you two. period. Oh, and we REALLY can’t wait for your wedding.
2014 just can’t come soon enough!

xoxo.
