Hi there! Welcome to the blog, a journal featuring our most recent weddings, engagements, and occasional travels. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm Kayla.

Goals for 2012.

Jan 16, 2012

The last couple weeks have been crazy busy, and FULL of all things wedding! 🙂

Between Christmas, New years, wedding planning, house decorating, and work I’ve completely neglected my blog.

It’s terrible, I know.

BUT I did come up with a few goals for 2012.
I’m not very good at resolutions, so I thought if I just do a few MAYBE I can actually accomplish them! 🙂

When it comes to entertaining guests, my Aunt Scill is like the greatest ever.
She cooks up a storm and makes it look super easy.
At the Christmas Dinner this year I was too busy eating to actually take pictures of the food,
but I do have a few of all her amazing looking tables.

And since I have the next couple months off to plan for my wedding, I’m brainstorming changes and ways to try new things in my business.
One thing I’d like to incorporate more (especially in engagement sessions) are styled shoots.
They’re so much fun and make your photos more unique and personal.
So if you wanna collaborate and do something awesome- let me know!! 🙂

I’ll leave you with one picture from a shoot my mom styled for me this fall.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I just celebrated our first anniversary. Marriage is amazing! It brings a whole new look at being a wedding photographer.

Nice blog. I like the layout.
As for goals, make sure they are goals and not just whispy dreams that are unattainable. I wrote a blog on goals in January about the difference between goals and dreams.
You might not want to look at the pictures on the blog. It might ruin your future husband. http://realstreetblog.com/2011/12/30/resolution-time-whats-the-difference-between-a-goal-and-a-dream/
